Counting Crows lyrics

"And all at once you look across a crowded room to see the way that
light attaches to a girl."

"If you've never stared-off onto the distance than your life is a shame."

"The feeling that it's all a lot of oysters and no pearls."

"I deserve a little more
I belong in the service of a queen
I belong anywhere but in-between."

Hey Cody. Love the new 'bare feet'? Nice blog.

Counting Crows have a way with lyrics. "Anna's Song" is my absolute favorite. I considered posting the whole song because the lyrics are soooo good but here's a tidbit:

my friend assures me, "it's all or nothing" ... it does not bother me to say this isn't love because if you don't want to talk about it then it isn't love and i guess i'm going to have to live with that but i'm sure there's something in a shade of grey, something in between ... my friend assures me, "it's all or nothing"

I agree. Adam Duritz is quite the genuis.

i can't read these lyrics without hearing the song in my head. i know every word. the scary thing is that i, not once, tried to learn them or commit them to memory. they are just there.

well then you would know that it's not called "Anna's song" its called "Anna begins".
