White Water Rafting

I don't remember if I put this up already, but here it is. A sequential collection of still photographs of me and friends white-water-rafting. I'm mostly doing this to play with this video-embeding stuff. Enjoy.

Hands

On occasion I have heard girls talk about how they find some men's hands really attractive. I have always thought this was such a ridiculous and erroneous comment and idea. However, there is a girl in my biology lab who's hands I noticed the first day. They are so incredibly attractive. I don't know what it is about them, I can't describe it, but she just has the most attractive hands. I catch myself staring at them. Weird I know.

Even more new toys

Okay, so being the McComas that I am, I have been trained to keep an eye out for good deals wherever they may pop up. And we all know that the best deal of all is free, right? So there I was walking out of my fencing class (yes fencing, cool I know) and as I walked out of the building there in the dumpster (which I often check for goodies) were some of this flipper/fin things you strap to your feet so you can swim like a frog, or a scuba-diver. That's right in the dumpster. Well I threw my torso over the edge, picked out the best looking pairs, strapped them to my backpack and went to my biology class. Makin' the McComas' proud. Photos included are of the loot:

More new toys

Okay...well I have been messing around with the blogging service over at Wordpress.com. I guess this is just a forshadowing of what may happen. I am a big fan of Blogger, and it would take quite a bit to make me change, but this program looks promising...we'll see.

New toys

Ok, I am trying out this new blog-posting software that allows you to write posts and save them and post to your blog all while off-line, so you don't have to worry about a web-based program that is going to crash, or that you can't write one when you are on the plane. It is available for free download at zoundry.com.

Hmm...

We must always fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil that we must fear the most, and that is the indifference of good men.

"A gathering of angels appeared above my head
They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said
They said come sail away, come sail away
Come sail away with me"

This is an actual picture of the "dark side" of the moon. Eat your heart out Pink Floyd (what does that expression even mean?)

Thank you...

...everyone for your kind comments about the stencil. I have never really considered myself an 'artist' but I really appreciate the comments.

Latest stencil

This is my latest stencil project.
It has 6 different layers.
One of my favorites so far.

"The greatest mystery is not that we have been flung at random between the profusion of matter and of the stars, but that within this prison we can draw from ourselves images powerful enough to deny our nothingness."

Caller, Answerer, and Stander.

People involved:
Caller: He or she who makes/initiates the phone call.
Answerer: He or she who takes the time to answer what seems to be an important phone call from the Caller.
Stander: The schmuck who stands there and talks to the Caller, asking them questions, etc.

Please people, when you are the Caller, and you are talking to the Answerer please, please, please, do not waste the Answerer's time by talking to the Stander. I feel this is, at the least, just common courtesy.

You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To

"You'd be so nice to come to
You'd be so nice by the fire
While the breeze on high, sang a lullaby
You'd be all that I could desire

Under stars chilled by the winter
Under an August moon burning above
You'd be so nice
You'd be paradise, to come home to and love"
--Frank Sinatra

I want a girl that I can come home to.
A girl that is calm, quiet, optimistic, gentle, loving, encouraging, caring, passionate.
A girl to come home to.

"The least of learning is done in the classroom."
--Thomas Merton
This is so true. College is a game, and he/she who learns how to play the game faster and better wins. The majority of the education received is not what is learned in the classroom...the education is that which is learned in the living through college and all that is involved with that. Housing, rent, job, scholarships, financial aid, learning what professors want and giving it to them, etc., etc. It is survival of the fittest. It is social Darwinism.

Yes my current profile picture really is one of my engineering professors, and yes it is off-set on purpose.

Let it be written, it must be written

A terrible joke...

Dearest, dearest readers:
My mother taught me that the best, and only good, practical jokes are those which, when it is all over, both parties can have a good laugh. Well, a few of you saw that I had a post up previously with a link in it. This link took you to a "Crush Calculator." This supposed calculator-of-true-love purported to determine if any of your crushes would be 'The One.' In reality what it did was merely send me the information of whom the Crusher and Crushees are. I did it thinking it would be a silly little joke, but after having it up for a few days, and having it 'fool' a few of my dear friends, I felt so guilty that I took it down.
So I guess the main purpose of this post is to say sorry. I value the relationship that I have with each one of you, and I would be saddened if that relationship were put into jeopardy due to a lack of trust. So, I apologize. Sincerely. For what it is worth.

P.S.- Although I do have to mention a witty crush submission. As follows:
Friend name: Pat Benetar
Crush #1: Mick Jager
Crush #2: Steve Tyler
Crush #3: Axel Rose

props to whoever submitted that one.
